This is an example of a perfect foal birth.  This is Way Cool foaling out her grulla filly starting at 8:15 April 24th, 2011.

Early morning 4/24 she had wax on her nipples.  We had a pretty good idea it would be that night.  About 8:15pm, she started pacing and kicking at her stomach.  8:35 her water broker.

8:35pm "white bubble" appeared. 
Two hoofs (souls down) can be seen inside the bag.
Note: If a "red bubble" is seen its an emergency.
Cut with knife and pull foal out ASAP. No time to call Vet.

8:40pm laid down flat and began pushing.

8:37pm - Couple pushes, nose starts to appear on top of legs.

8:37pm mare gets back up.
May walk arouund with legs out - OK.

Notice the hooves face downward.
If the souls are hooves are facing the sky, then the foal
is coming out breach - back feet first. 
Pull foal out ASAP.

8:38 lays back down.

8:39 pushes head out.

8:40 - Takes several pushes to try to get the shoulders out.

8:41pm - Shoulders make it out.

Can lift the sac off the foals nose to make sure can breath.

8:42pm - Just the back feet left to come out.

8:43 foal squirms around to release hind feet.
